PMLF Comes To Students in the Classroom

Pacific Marine Life Foundation helps underwrite Dolphin Quest's popular Outreach Adventure classroom series which has enabled hundreds of Hawaii students in grades K-4 to learn about marine life.

Program goals include developing greater student appreciation of the ocean's diverse, delicate habitat by exposing them to marine animals in a fun and lively learning setting. Outreach Adventure's educators go to the schools, many of them rural, where they provide engaging one-hour, age-appropriate lessons based on National Science Standards.

Dolphin Quest Vice President Diane Sweeney developed the curriculum, assisted by staff in San Diego as well as Waikoloa DQ's Marcie Neubecker.

Marcie reports excellent feedback from teachers as well as youngsters for these in-classroom programs. In the future we hope to be able to bring our programs to children elsewhere in the Pacific community. For further information, please contact Marcie Neubecker at her email address: mneubecker@dolphinquest.org
