Tim Guard's
lifelong residency in Hawaii has revolved around ocean related
activities. As president of McCabe Hamilton & Renny Co.,
he presides over the state's largest and oldest stevedoring business.
He earned his BA from the University of Southern California in
International Relations and served as an officer in the U.S.
Navy during the Vietnam era, where his combat citations were
the Bronze Star and Navy Commendation Medal. Guard's civic service
leadership roles include the Hawaii Maritime Center, Outrigger
Canoe Club and Honolulu Council of the Navy League, for which
he currently serves as president. Prior to joining McCabe, he
owned and operated his own executive recruiting company, Robert
T. Guard & Associates.

Peter H. Schall
Peter Schall
is managing director of Hilton Hawaiian Village and a director
of Hilton Hotels Corporation, overseeing general operations of
Hilton's resorts in Hawaii. A three-decades-plus veteran of the
hospitality industry, Schall was born and raised in Freudenstadt,
Germany, graduating with honors from the Volksschule School for
Hotel and Restaurant Administration. He helped steer Hilton Hawaiian
Village through its $100-million renaissance in the late eighties.
Long active in the Hawaii community, he serves on several boards
besides PMLF, among them the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau,
the Aloha United Way and the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii.

Darrell Metzger
Darrell
Metzger is president and CEO of Pomare, Ltd., corporate office
of Hilo Hattie, the world's largest manufacturer of Hawaiian,
resort and casual fashions. He has a diverse background in managing
and marketing world class attractions and special events in the
US, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. A Hawaii resident since 1995,
he has served as CEO of both Atlantis Adventures and Ocean Park
Hong Kong and spent 10 years with the Walt Disney Company where
he was involved in opening the Tokyo Disneyland. Metzger earned
an MBA from California State University at Long Beach and presently
serves on the boards of the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau,
Hawaii Attractions Association and Hawaii Public Television Foundation
as well as PMLF.

Robert L. Moore
Bob Moore
is general manager of the Hawaii Maritime Center, a non-profit
subsidiary of the Bishop Museum which was built at Honolulu Harbor
in the late eighties. A graduate of the University of Hawaii
at Manoa, where he received his bachelor's degree in business,
Moore is past general manager of Sea Life Park. He is a director
of the Outrigger Canoe Club and former director of the Aloha
Festivals, Windward YMCA and the Hawaii chapter of Pacific Area
Travel Association, enjoying surfing and sailing as personal
hobbies.

Jeffrey Smith
Jeff Smith
directs operations for Dolphin Quest Hawaii, based at Waikoloa,
Hawaii. Born and raised in Southern California, Jeff's love of
marine life dates to his early days of swimming and surfing at
Newport Beach. Smith earned his bachelor's degree in Motion Picture
Production (minoring in undersea photo technology) from Brooks
Institute of Photographic Arts & Science in Santa Barbara.
He has taught researchers and educators in Hawaii his photographic
skills since 1982. He joined Dolphin Quest Hawaii in 1988 and
still enjoys hands-on participation in the popular dolphin interactive
program.

Bruce Blankenfeld
Bruce Blankenfeld
is a career stevedore whose love of the Pacific Ocean has literally
taken him to its far corners. Born and raised in Honolulu, Bruce
attended community college in California and Hawaii and was a
firefighter with the Honolulu Police Department before joining
McCabe Hamilton & Renny. As a founding member of the Polynesian
Voyaging Society, Bruce has made several historic open ocean
trips from Hawaii, using natural sailing techniques in the tradition
of the ancient Hawaiians. He has served PVS as crew member, fisherman,
captain and most recently as navigator for the trip to Rapa Nui
("Easter Island.") Bruce's leisure interests also include
outrigger canoe paddling and coaching, surfing and raising taro,
fruit trees and vegetables.

Stefanie Smart
Stefanie
Smart has had two lifelong passions: Ocean activity and the performing
arts. A descendent of King Kamehameha I, she graduated from the
American Academy of Dramatic Arts and since then, has studied
acting with several prestigious companies. She's twice won her
state's highest honors for excellence in theatre, for her performances
as "Carrie" in Carousel and "Anna" in The
King & I, and has guest starred on TV in programs such as
"Baywatch Hawaii." A certified scuba diver, Stefanie
also enjoys jet-skiing, water skiing, surfing, boogie boarding,
Hawaiian canoe paddling as well as hiking, 4-wheeling and off-road
motorcycling.

George Atta
George
Atta is vice president and chief community planner for Group
70 International where his coastal marine projects include the
new master plan for Coconut Island. He is a member of the American
Institute of Certified Planners, the National Association of
Environmental Professionals and the East West Center's Internationalization
Forum. A certified environmental inspector with the Environmental
Assessment Association, George has extensive experience in wetland
delineation and policy, land planning, environmental assessments
and coordination of community advisory groups and public meetings.
A PhD candidate at the University of Hawaii, he speaks Japanese
and earned his master's degree in planning from Harvard University.

Warren Duryea
Born in Hawaii and
raised in southern California, Warren Duryea is licensed as a
CPA in both the Sunshine and Aloha States. Active in business
for over 25 years, he was with Peat Marwick prior to opening
his own accounting firm in downtown Honolulu. He has had a lifelong
interest in water sports, principally swimming, and co-founded
the Kailua Masters Swim Club. He also serves as Hawaii District
president of the National Exchange Clubs, a community service
organization.
